Shih Tzu Companion
You'll find it in your purchase email and on your welcome PDF. You only need to do this once on each phone.
A new best friend is on the way
Schedules, training, food and vet help, memories, and an emergency card, all made for your puppy.
Save everything (profile, logs, memories and photos) to one file. Use it to move to a new phone or to keep a safe copy.
This erases everything on this phone: your dog's profile, logs, notes, memories and photos. It can't be undone. Save a backup first if you might want them later.
Backup and printing work in the shared link version of the app. They are switched off while it runs inside Claude.
Good morning
Adds the times you pick to your phone's calendar, repeating every day, with an alert at each time. Your calendar does the reminding.
iPhone: tap the file, then Add All. Android: open the file with your calendar app; if that doesn't work, import it at calendar.google.com under Settings, Import. If you add the schedule again later, delete the old events first (choose "Delete all future events").
Flat faces overheat fast. How warm is it outside today?
Every adopted dog arrives with a past you can only partly see. Over the first few weeks, mark how your dog does with each of these. Wait until after the first 3 days: most dogs aren't themselves yet.
Ask the shelter or previous family. Anything is useful.
Seven skills that make a Shih Tzu easy to live with. Two minutes at a time, rewards only. Tap "Practiced" after each session and rate how reliable the skill is: 5 stars means it works every time indoors.
The crate is never a punishment. Cover three sides, keep it in the family room, and never put it in direct sun or by a heater. Flat faces overheat fast.
Opens maps with places close to where you are now. Your location goes to the maps app, not to this app.
What this breed can be prone to, the signs to notice, and what to ask your vet. This is general education, not a diagnosis.
Shih Tzu hair never stops growing, so the cut you choose decides how much brushing you'll do.
Choose once, then show this screen or a printout at every visit.
Log new foods, treats or anything unusual, and how it went. Patterns show up over a few weeks.
Change food slowly over 7 days to avoid an upset stomach.
Shih Tzu puppies are tiny and can get low blood sugar if they skip meals. If your puppy is weak, wobbly, shaking or very sleepy, call your vet right away.
General guidance only. Ask your vet about your puppy's food and portions.
A typical schedule. Your vet sets the exact shots and dates. Enter the date of each visit to keep a record.
Pet insurance pays back part of your vet bills after you pay the clinic. Most plans don't cover problems that started before you enrolled, which is why many owners sign up while their dog is young and healthy.
General information, not financial advice. Compare a few plans and read the policy details.
This app can't send notifications by itself. Add these to your phone's calendar and it will remind you. Change any date first.
Calendar buttons work in the shared link version of the app.
One printable page with profile, food, health records, weights and anything you've flagged. Bring it to appointments.
Twenty moments to capture, each with a photo, a date and a little story. Together they make a memory book.
It's never too late. Enter the real coming-home date. If it was more than two weeks ago, the app asks where to start:
On the Vet tab, add the dates of any vaccines or checkups that already happened.
A new dog changes the house for the pets already living there. Go slowly: most pets take a few weeks to settle in together. If you chose "Another dog" or "A cat" in setup, the checklist Meeting the other pets is on Grow → Checklists.
If there's growling, snapping or fighting that doesn't ease, talk to your vet or a certified trainer.
Look for Print buttons on the checklists, the weekly plan, the emergency cards, the vet summary, the groomer note and the memory book. On a phone, the print preview opens: choose Print, or share it to Save to Files to keep a PDF.
The app can't send notifications by itself, so it uses your phone's calendar. On Today, open Get alerts for this schedule under the schedule and pick the times you want alerts for, like potty breaks and meals. On the Vet tab, use Reminders on your phone to add vet visits, grooms, monthly flea and heartworm doses, yearly checkups and birthdays to your phone's calendar. Your calendar does the reminding.
Also on the Vet tab: Pet insurance questions to ask before you buy, and a place for your policy details. They print on your vet summary and emergency card.
General education only, not veterinary advice. Your vet is the final word on your dog's health.
Quick steps while you call your vet or get in the car. First aid is not a replacement for a vet. Always go after.
A dog in pain may bite, even a sweet one. Move slowly, talk calmly, and keep your face away from the mouth.
Look up your nearest 24-hour vet now, before you ever need it, and save it here.
